What Can We Freeze?
We already talked about the things to keep in mind when freezing food, but do we know what can be frozen? Of course, fresh food is the best, but sometimes it might be extremely helpful if we can quickly take out something from the freezer and eat after a short time, especially if it was bought on a big sale or if we talk about season fruits.

Dairy products
Did you know that you can freeze all kinds of dairy products? You can keep butter and margarin in the freezer for 3-6 months and it is better to be frozen in portions you might need, for example 50 g pieces. If you froze the milk in it’s own container, pour out a bit to make room to expand, otherwise it will explode. Do not forget to use it in about 1-3 months.
You can freeze cheese in cubes as well, but perharps it is be to be grated, as we can take from it with a spoon axacly how much we need for a certain meal. If we mix it with a little flour before freezing, it will not stick together when thawn. It can stay in the freezer for about 4 months.
Althought whipped cream is not recommended to be frozen in liquid form, you can whip it, then froze on a baking sheet in one spoon portions, then throw them in a bag or a container, because after that it will not stick together if properly wrapped.

Eggs
Eggs are a bit more problematic, but you don’t have to renounce becasuse of this. Be sure not to freeze them in their shell, because it will explode while freezing, break hem up, and mix the egg white with the yolk carefully, not to get air into it, then add a bit of surag or salt, depending on what you want to use it later.

Meat
We all freeze meat, so we know how to handle it, but we definitely have to mention that the best way for defrosting it is putting in the fridge and allow to slowly defrost by itself. If we change our mind, we can still put back in the freezer. If frozen in an other way, we have to prepare it first on the stove or the oven, only then put back in the freezer.
You can also freese cold meats like ham, bacon, salami, sausages, but for easier handling freeze them separately on a baking paper then throw them in a container to not stick together or separate them in samll portions that we can use at once, like 2-3 slices of bacon together.
