Raw doughs and cakes

Freezing raw doughs and cakes helps us prepare them faster and prevents big portions of them going bad. When we freeze pizza dough, prepare as usual, leave it to raise, then, when we would put it in the owen, put it in the fridge instead dor a few hours, then freeze in portions. The pir dough can be frozen immediately after done or we can prepare the whole pie and then put it in the freezer.

If we thaw pencake or muffin batter, we need to do it slowly, otherwise it will be damaged. We can freeze muffin batter directly in muffin paper, this way atfer thawn we can put it directly in the over without portioning it. We can also freeze cookie dough in small balls, this was we can put them directly from the freezer in the tray, then in the oven.

Did you know that you can also freeze creamy cakes as well? If we have too much of it, for example after a wedding or a holiday, just throw it in the freezer and take it our after a few weeks or months.

Bread, flour

Bread can be frozen for about 3 months. Of course, fresh bread is tastier, as fresh cakes as well, but it is definitely a good option when it seems to go bad because of the large quantity. Did we know that we can freeze flour as well? If you have a lot and seems that will not be used up soon, we can protect it from unwelcomed guest as well if we freeze it. Be sure to wrap it in two layers to prevent condensation ruin it when frozen.

Rice, pasta, potato, sauces

Of course, we promote fresh food and freezing rice and pasta requires a little more attention, but is good to know that we have this opportunity. Do not overcook them, the best state to freeze them is al dente. We can freeze mashed potato by spoon on a baking sheet, then thrown together, this way it’s easier to dose it. Did you know that you can freeze chips as well? Of course, it is a rare case to have that much chips that we can not eat it in a few days, but if this is the case, just throw it in the freezer. We can freeze almost any sauce, like tomato juice, pesto and so on. Do not forget to label and portion them.
